It would be more interesting to see Microsoft prove they had not nicked anything from Linux. Lot’s of lovely proprietary source code!

I think most of what MS has taken was bsd stuff, so it is on the up and up (though they’ve been caught numerous times stealing closed source stuff) but i think they will have a good chance at finding some software patents that have been violated, since such patents are incredibly broad. what will linux do if say MS is able to enforce a double-clicking type patent in court? you can’t just change the code, you have to develop a new kind of interface.
