Tim: I'd love to know how you got CheckPoint to work. I've had absolutely no success w/ the beta. Any pointers?

When I did my interview for the Peer-to-Peer, I got the impression they were trying to get all the ACEs involved. I guess they want to increase the profile of the Oracle ACE program. Even at OpenWorld people were asking me what an Oracle ACE was. To which I reply, "Big fish in a small pond!" :)

Cheers

Hey Tim,
Yeah, I was thumbing through my lastest Oracle mag and low and behold there you were "again". What's up with this? First your the Ace and now they got you in peer to peer.

It's kind of refreshing to see three people in there that I am familar with instead of Joe DBA from small_town Punjabi.

Pretty much my Vista experience, too. Which is why I've just gone back to XP. There is a group policy which will turn off UAC without you getting the Red Shield thingie. I seem to recall reading somewhere that Microsoft deliberately broke SAMBA compatibility with Vista. I could just be being paranoid, of course. I did like the searchable menu. I liked the chess game even more. But ultimately, it's all just a bit too strange and things just don't feel quite right with it. I'll go back to it in about 9 months or so, I guess...
