This weekend on cable my 7-year-old saw and enjoyed a Tim Burton movie called Frankenweenie. Filmed in B&W, with Daniel Stern and Sophia Coppola among others. Kid's dog gets hit by a car, kid digs it up from cemetary and revives it with metal kites in lightning, lots of references to the original monster movies. Very strange, but even stranger is that it's being remade in stop-motion for release next year.

...of course, I'll have to see for myself, but that is reassuring, since I loved all of the previous Guy Ritchie films, especially Lock Stock.

Can't wait now!
