It gets a bit soppy at times, but is generally on the money. I was never a buffy fan. Too "teeny" for me. The Moonlight stuff makes me wretch. :) I think "manufactured" is a very good word. I think Anne Rice started off on that road in the early 70s. Then Buffy came along in the 90s.
