Installing ORACLE XML DB

Hi Tim,

My imported completed with below errors..when i searched, it look like i don't have XML DB installed.

ORA-39083: Object type TABLE:"STEST_DEV2"."USER_MSG_OLD" failed to create with error:
ORA-44425: XML DB needs to be installed for creating an XMLType table or column
Failing sql is:

COMP_NAME STATUS VERSION
---------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------- ------------------------------
Oracle Database Catalog Views VALID 11.2.0.3.0
Oracle Database Packages and Types VALID 11.2.0.3.0

Not familiar with XML DB.. Can you explain me how to fix this error by installing XML DB? does it required downtime? please advise.

Hi.

Start up the DBCA, choose to modify the existing database and tick the XML DB option. That should install all XML DB code for you.

XML DB is a no cost option, so there is no additional licensing implication.
