Oracle OEM 12C installation issues

Tim,
my environment is a single OEM server installed 12cr2_Linux64 to moniter multiple databases/nfs server with over 20 nodes.

I have a question here.
We installed database 11gr2 prior OEM installation, and when installed OEM, we have /oracle/oms12cr2 as oms_home and /oracle/agent12cr2 as agent_home.
when I tried to check status after installation, I have some problem as following:
1. I unserstand that oms_home is /oracle/oms12cr2/oms/ and agent_home is /oracle/agent12cr2/agent. when emctl status oms or emctl status agent under both $oms_home/bin and $agent_home/bin, I got the same error from both emctl commands saying" EM Configuration issue. /oracle/OEM/oemserverfullqualifyname_repositorydataname not found"

2. I checked /oracle/OEM directory, I didnt have anything like that. so do you know what I missed when I install or can I correct this error without reinstall?

3. I understand after add target to oem, the agent would automatically deploy to target. so the agent home should be the same directory as we have on the server, like /oracle/agent12cr2/agent, right? and I can see that agent status from OEM, right?

Tim,
there is another question related to OEM agent installation.
I have ome12cr2_Linux64, I think it including agent software for Linux. I also like to add some database on few Solaris servers, so in this case, the agent deployed from Linux server would work on these Solaris servers? I didnt find any agent for specific OS, so I assum the agent deployed from Linux server would work on Solaris. Correct me if I am wrong here.

Hi.

It sounds to me like you've missed out some of the prerequisite tasks. This is how I installed it.

You can see how I access emctl at the end of the article. The two commands you will need to check the status of the OMS and agent are:

$OMS_HOME/bin/emctl status oms

$AGENT_HOME/bin/emctl status agent

You have to download the relevant agent software into a software library on the OMS server. You can see how to do that here.

With the software library defined and your MOS credentials set, you download the agent software to the software library, which allows you to install it on hosts by adding hosts manually. It's all explained in that article.
