archival process to archive a redo log group

Dear Tim,

Can you please guide / alternative pointers for gathering information on " Time taken by archival process to archive a redo log group to local ( dest_1) location". Is there any views which contains such information ?

my approach:-
1) calculate time difference between archive files (generated) at OS level .

Hi.

V$ARCHIVED_LOGCOMPLETION_TIME gives you thew time when archiving was completed for the specific archived redo log.

V$ARCHIVED_LOG.NEXT_CHANGE#-1 gives you the SCN of the last change in the archived redo log. SCN_TO_TIMESTAMP can convert this to a date, with up to a 3 second inaccuracy.
