Hi Tim,

Does recyclebin protects encrypted tables?

Thanks

Hi.

Question: Have you tried creating a simple encrypted table and dropping it?

Cheers

I had dropped few tables with encrypted data and did not see them in recyclebin that's the reason I asked.

Thanks

Hi.

I set up the table described here:

http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g ... -11gr1.php

You can see the table:

Code: Select all
SQL> select object_name from user_objects;

OBJECT_NAME
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ETS_TEST_IDX
ETS_TEST

SQL>

So now I drop it and check what has happened.

Code: Select all
SQL> drop table ets_test;

Table dropped.

SQL> select object_name from user_objects;

no rows selected

SQL> show recyclebin
ORIGINAL NAME    RECYCLEBIN NAME                OBJECT TYPE  DROP TIME
---------------- ------------------------------ ------------ -------------------
ETS_TEST         BIN$05Tw1g+gCXzgQ5AAqMAGtA==$0 TABLE        2013-01-18:18:04:21
SQL>

Looks like the recycle bin is working for me.

The easiest way to check most things is to test them for yourself. :)

Cheers
