Upgrade to Oracle 11GR2

Dear Sirs:

We have currently Oracle 10Gr2 (10.2.0.3.0) Enterprise editiondatabase running as a 2-Node cluster on RHEL 4.0 Enterprise
edition.

We are now planning to move to 11G R2 on same OS and H/w.

Is there any document on this forum or at ORACLE_BASE.com which provides necessary activities and methodologies. I need
to write a plan document. So please help.

Hi.

I don't have any documents on this process. Upgrades should always be taken on a case-by-case basis, which makes writing a generic document rather tricky. It is more likely to mislead than help in many cases.

The basic process is:

- Upgrade the clusterware on all nodes in the cluster. You can do this using rolling upgrades or in one shot.
- Upgrade the databases that are used the newly upgraded clusterware.

The process is documented in the Oracle manuals. These are probably good starting points.
