tee command permission denied

Postby sridhartempalle » Thu Jul 25, 2013 9:21 pm

Hello Tim,

I issued the tee command but got the following permissions error:

[oracle@localhost ~]$ rman | tee /u01/bkup/rman/script_logs/rman.log
tee: /u01/bkup/rman/script_logs/rmanlog.log: Permission denied

RMAN>

Now what permissions do i need to give?

Hi Tim,

I got the solution to the problem after my friend sighted that the ownership might be the problem. After changing it from 'root' to the 'oracle' user for the directory selected for storing backups, the problem was solved. 8) :D
