PRVF-5316 : Failed to retrieve version of CRS installed

Postby kvksagar » Mon Apr 15, 2013 6:10 am

Hi Tim

I'am using Virtualbox to install two node rac on OEL5 and my software version is 11.2.0.1.
I configured everything as document http://www.oracle-base.com/articles/11g ... ualbox.php, when i executed the script root.sh on my second node, configuration of cluster is failed, getting error Failed to start resource ora.scan1.vip so i delete the scan ip in /etc/hosts on node2 which was using in node1 then cluster on node2 was succeeded.
When i execute the prerequisite script for database installation /software/grid/sh runcluvfy.sh stage -pre dbinst -n rac1,rac2 -verbose i was getting otput which has one error on second node.
Checking CRS integrity...

ERROR:
PRVF-5316 : Failed to retrieve version of CRS installed on node "rac2"
The Oracle clusterware is healthy on node "rac2"
The Oracle clusterware is healthy on node "rac1"

CRS integrity check failed

When i was trying to install oracle software i can't found two nodes during installation.

Please help me from here.
Thanks

Hi.

The SCAN must resolve to the same IP address(es) on each node.

If you are using 11.2.0.3 you should really use DNS. 11.2 doesn;t really play well without DNS anymore. It's easy to set up.

For a general introduction to DNS, you can check out this:

Cheers
