PSU ,patch set, CPU

Hi folks,

correct me if i am worng

1) PSU patch,CPU patch, security & one off or interim patch are applied using Opatch utility in RAC environment(11g r2) in Rolling Manner

2) Patch set will be applied using OUI or runinstaller

3)specify auto option using opatch utility & it significance?

14351$opatch auto where 14351=patch dir


appreciate your ideas?

Hi.

Well, every time you do a patch, regardless how many times you've done "similar" patches, you should follow the associated patch note exactly. Deviating from the patch note is a mistake and could leave you with a broken or unsupported database.

With that in mind, "my ideas" are, follow the patch note.

Hi tim,

i am asking the way how to apply psu,cpu,interim patches and patch set patch . i don't apply the patches many times. "every time you do a patch, regardless how many times you've done "similar" patches "



I know CPU ,interim ,security patch will be applied through OPtach utility , but i confused whether psu applied through OUI or Opatch utility

if you share me the way that would be great.

Hi.

Typically with opatch, but once again, you have to check the patch note. It is not impossible for the patch note to include additional or alternative instructions.
