1Z0-147 or 1Z0-144

Postby momer79 » Sun Jan 17, 2010 6:07 pm

Hi,

I have recently passed the exam 1Z0-007 and wondering which one is best exam to sit next ,1z0-147 or 1z0-144?

I use Oracle 9i and 1Z0-147 suites me but some people say that 1Z0-144 is better option.

How long will 1Z0-147 last?

Thanks

Hi.

Either of these exams will give you OCA status. You will never lose that status, even if the exam is retired, so you should choose the exam that you prefer. There is not a vast difference between them. The 11g exam includes some newer stuff, but it's not so fundamentally different.

Cheers

Does anyone have any pointers to inexpensive resources for 1Z0-147 (SQL certified expert)?
I will search through myself of course, but if anyone has anything to hand then it would be most useful and I would be most grateful.

Hi.

The exam number and title you have posted do not match. :)

With all certifications, the cheapest approach is to read the manuals and play with the product.
If you need more structure, then buy one of the exam guide books and work through it.
If there is no book and you don't want to do the leg-work yourself, you have little choice but to go on a course.

Cheers

Sorry it's 1Z0-047.
There is a book (Osborne Oracle Press series) that looks good for £22.50 on Amazon.

I would like a little structure because I would be concerned about covering all the correct areas if doing it myself.
This would seem like a good option.

I have passed the 1Z0-047 this year, didn't buy any book.
Instead i bought a practice exam recommended by Oracle.
That in combination with the Oracle documentation, was good enough for me.
