Hi I am preparing for the 1z0-033 exam and i have some questions can anyone give me the right answer
1. when is temporary segmetn allocated
a.when instance starts
b.when first sort is performed
2.if there is checkpoint not complete error
a.increase dbwr process
b.increasing lgwr processes
c.increase no of memebrs for each groups
3.why it is not adviceable to create redo logs on raid 5.

Hi.

These aren't good questions if you ask me:

1) B - temporary segments are allocated when sort operations are requested.

2) None of these. I would increase either the number of redo log groups or the size of the redo log members. Increasing the number of members for the existing groups will make life worse if anything. See Metalink Doc ID: 147468.1

3) Raid 5 has a write overhead so it's not great for any Oracle files. Saying that, the online redo logs are worst affected as these are sequential files. At least the data files are random access.
