update timezone file version from 2 to 4

Hi Tim,

My production db is on windows 2003(32 bit) oracle 10g(10.2.0.1.0) which i want to upgrade to 11g(11.1.0.6). I am a licence user of oracle. Before doing upgrade i need to update timezone file version from 2 to 4. I installed oracle 11g software and created home directory.i run utlu111i.sql to update timezone version but nothing happened.

Please let me know is there any patch to update timezone file version for windows 2003(32 bit). I searched on oracle support site but did not get.

Hi.

I don't know what you mean by update timezone file.

The script you talked about running is a pre-upgrade validation script. it will not actually alter any settings.

Hi Tim,

On my windows db server when i fire below command it returns following output.

SQL> select * from v$timezone_file;

FILENAME VERSION
------------ ----------
timezlrg.dat 2

My doubt is when i am doing upgrade from oracle 10g(10.2.0.1.0) to 11g(11.1.0.6) using DBUA, i am getting warning message " WARNING: –> Database is using an old timezone file version" i need to update timezone file version from 2 to 4. Is there any patch which will update this timezone file version ?
