What is process O00n used for?

Hi Tim,

I am asking your knowledge to help me found out what is the process O00n used for in Oracle 10g? Since Saturday evening, I have a process named O000 taking a lot of charge on a RAC instance and I'd like to know how to investigate and solve this issue. In fact at that time I had to recreate a new tablespace and just after launching the command CREATE TABLESPACE I realized that I had made a syntax mistake. So instead of waiting for oracle to through me an oracle error, I did CTRL + C, not good but I did it, I was using SQLPlus. Since then I have this process O000 taking a lot of charge on this instance.

I have been looking everywhere for info, on metalink on the net but nothing explaining what is this process used for.

Hi.

They are processes to allow connections to the ASM instance. Your issue sounds like this bug to me: "ora_o00n Process High CPU Usage in 11.2.0.2 [ID 1459376.1]"
